A Tribute to My Dad

Angler’s Seafood House was founded on September 7th, 2018 by yours truly “Giovanni Marin”. This is a little story of my childhood 48 years ago.

The “Marin” family consisted of Mrs. Patricia & Mr. Aldo Marin and their 10 children; and I, Giovanni, being the youngest of the boys. Growing up in a small fishing village, with a population of only 1500 habitants. The Marin family would make their living by FISHING ONLY. Since the fishing industry was our only source of means, and with a very tight budget, we ate fish EVERYDAY. Literally! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even our dessert were fish cakes. So, believe me not, I KNOW ABOUT FISH. This wasn’t a luxury but the only means my father could afford to give us since we were a large family.

Today, everything I know from FISHING to BUILDING BOATS, SIGNS, FISH MOUNTS and being an entrepreneur, I can say I owe it to my beloved dad, my hero! The best fisherman in the world to me. All his sacrifices, patience, hard work and his immense love for his family made who I am today. I am thankful, super proud, and honored to be the son of a humble local San Pedrano FISHERMAN.
